Beach Therapy

Every year we head down to the Outer Banks with Chris's family. I love Beaches. All beaches. But especially these beaches. We head down to a quieter portion of the banks where the sand seems laced with enchantment. It is good for my soul. It was nice to introduce the little one to a place that's so near and dear. As always, I left with a little sadness that it was over, and gladness that I got to breathe in the magic once again.

Here's to: sea glass, high tide, seagulls, sunsets and books laced with sand. 'Til next year!

E sees waves for the first time. She's not so sure.

Contemplating the deeper things.

Chris and I recover from all the waves we caught. :)

Sand is not the sixth food group, little dear.

My baby has more of a tan than I do. I hereby give up on tanning endeavors. You know, sun damage and all. ;)

Three swimsuits does not equal excess. Right? Right? Bueller?

Doesn't this face say it all?

Looks so fun. :) And - though people will question whether I am actually Sophie's mother - I've given up on all tanning endeavors, too. White and delightsome, right?? :)

8-31-08 What a great vacation. And Eva, of course, is a living doll. She can have as many swim suits as she or her mommy want!!

with a body like that 3 suits is probably not quite enough

I was sorry to hear about your niece - very sad. We don't know Cait and Brig, but our thoughts and prayers are with them and all your family.

There aren't many better things in life than cute little girls in swim suits. Looks like a great vacation.

Jocelyn always eats the sand, too, I don't know what it is.
